There is no such thing as a perfect politician. But for eight years, we have watched the Bush/Cheney White House set a new low bar for despicable, petty attack politics. Now John McCain is promising another four to eight years of the same garbage, and he’s already getting plenty of practice during the campaign - as he fills the airwaves with lies and pretends trumped-up distractions are more important than America’s very real problems.
It’s time to stand up to this nonsense. The McCain Lies Fund (MLF) will directly help Barack Obama become President of the United States in November, while showing McCain that tearing pages from Karl Rove’s handbook is no longer the formula for victory.
The message to our presidential candidates, present and future, is clear. Show some basic honesty and respect for voters, or go home.
